TAFE (Theatre Arts For Everyone)

Role:
Graphic Designer/Web designer

Programs/Platforms:

In 2016, I was hired by the York Pennsylvania theatre company, TAFE (Theatre Arts For Everyone), to design their logo, business cards, and company marketing materials. Since then, I have been working on an ongoing basis creating all new company marketing materials including show posters, flyers, postcards, brochures, and newsletters.

Below is a sampling of the work I have done for TAFE.

Branding

The idea for the playful colors, curvy graphics, and font choices was inspired by the company’s goals to reach people of all ages. The graphics had to be eye-catching and appealing for small children, grandmothers, and everybody in between.

Brochures/Rack Cards

I used the signature curving graphics for the early brochures to keep the brand consistent. Over the years, the format for presenting each season changed to being a flyer or a rack card. For each season, I keep the design fun and colorful, consistent with the theatre’s brand identity.

I also created a fun design for the tri-fold brochure. The goal of the brochure was to thank members for supporting TAFE for five years.

Posters/Flyers

As with other marketing materials TAFE, I am responsible for the full design of the posters and flyers. When deciding on the colors for the show posters, I base them on the show’s description and/or logo.

For the last few years, TAFE has been producing a show called Women and One Acts. I have had the pleasure of creating the title/logo for this show. For the 2024 season show of Women and One Acts, TAFE is presenting the show, Wit, for which I created the logo.

Newsletters

During the pandemic, I took over designing TAFE’s newsletters. This allowed me to level up the design to be more sophisticated. The newsletters are sent out as an email and also as a folded direct mailer.

Programs

For program covers and sponsor’s page, I match them to the posters that I designed for the show. I also format the interior content.
