In 2014 I was hired by the online company, College Admissions HQ, LLC (CAHQ), to create their brand identity system. The company’s objective is to help families understand the college admissions process so they can make the best decisions about where to apply and where to attend college. Beyond the brand identity system, I created designs for their printed materials and I designed their website.

Branding

For CHAQ’s logo, I used a sans-serif font for the words “College” and “HQ” to indicate a bold decision to be made. The word “admissions” is italicized to emphasize that this company focuses on the admissions process. I chose the mortarboard graphic on top of the word “HQ” to represent college graduation, with an arrow to indicate forward progress.

The chosen colors for their identity system are blue to represent trust in the information CAHQ is providing and red to represent the owners’ passion for helping people understand the college admissions process.

Marketing Materials

I designed the company’s marketing materials to promote the company’s online classes.

Below are rack cards promoting two of the company’s online classes. The front design gives a summary of each course’s curriculum. To make each course stand out, I used a different company color. The design for the back of the rack cards ties into the company’s identity system by having a color-splitting triangle consistent with the business card’s design.

Website

Over the years the company’s trajectory has changed several times and each time I was asked to redesigned the website to fit the new company goals.

I still maintain the current version of their website. I have used WordPress with a theme and custom HTML + CSS to design the site.
