Who am I?

My name is Emily Ray Ryan, and I am from York, PA. Ever since I was little, I had an eye for color and design and devoted many childhood hours to working on unique abstract designs with a bucket of Sharpies. I spent a great deal of my youth roaming museum halls, attending art openings, listening to live music, attending theatre productions, acting on stage, and singing in choirs. I love art!

In college, I merged my love of art with a newfound appreciation of how technology can create art. I went on to study graphic design, and web development and design.

Since college, I have been creating designs for print and the web for various clients. One of my clients, a local theatre company called Theatre Arts for Everyone (TAFE), has brought me back into the theatre world. For the past six years, this has allowed me to merge my design work with my love of theatre. Working with TAFE has afforded me significant design freedom, an aspect of my role as a graphic designer that love.”

Outside of my design work

Throughout my upbringing, my parents instilled in me a great love for reading. Since 2022, I’ve delved deeper into the world of books while working part-time as a computer assistant at my local library. Assisting library patrons with their inquiries and technological needs has opened my eyes to the widespread need for tech assistance in our community. I get a deep sense of satisfaction in helping individuals navigate the digital landscape and achieve their technological goals.

When I am not working on a graphic design project or working at the library, you can find me baking or cooking, reading a good book, watching a good TV show, enjoying a nice long bath, or performing in a TAFE show.
